About a month ago at work, I had to come up with a concept purely just to win a job and show the client what we're capable of graphically. The client was Acer Arena which is a pretty popular venue in Sydney and has hosted some big events that have appeared on tele.

We were up against a handful of other agencies bidding for the project. So you can imagine how important it was to create a concept to woo the client.

So my boss comes into work today and tells me won the project! :woohoo: They loved the concept we provided and want to refine it! :excited:

In other news, I went out last Friday night after a work shindig and snapped a street sign and scratched myself :drunk:. Plus I jumped on my boss's back and he fell over and I smashed my elbow! :oops: I'm a hazard to people when I'm drunk, only because I'm soo hypo. Not to mention I sing loud as hell :sing:

Simplicity dying?

Am I the only one who feels like simplicity in web design is dying?

I constantly get clients who want a design that is quirky, complex etc for their websites.

I don't remember the last "simple design" I did! I used to get a fair few clients that wanted simple, clean, fresh, minimalism in their designs but it's a rarity nowadays...

And it bugs me too because it's my favourite type of design, I love simplicity! But it's been at least a year since I've been able to use it.

I just want a client who loves simplicity as much as I do once in a while... I'm so over these complex designs! They actually bore me... odd don't you think? I find simplicity to be beautiful and I love using negative space but I never get a bloody chance to!!!

Anyway, that's my rant...

That's right, I'm 21 today, one more year of wisdom on my shoulders.

My new job doesn't really allow me to submit many deviations as I mostly do deveopment. But I'll have a few coming in the next few weeks.

I'll keep this short as I should be working, so happy birthday me! LET'S GET WASTED!!!!!!!!!!

Well I finally bought another subscription... I'm soo cheap lol

Only bought 3 months worth. And what's this? 4000 page views, woot! I'll be using DA more often now I got a subscription! So stay tuned peoples.
